I love patchwork

I just bought this I heart patchwork book by Rashida Coleman-Hale. I love how she chose color and fabric combination. My favorite projects are blossom pincushion and button calendar.

However This book take me to her lovely space I heart linen and introduced me to “Zakka” a style of art and craft that is simple, charming, and of Japanese esthetic. Most items in the zakka style are handmade…I learn and absorb most of my inspiration from Japanese handmade style. I always love Japanese simple but delicate design and now I know its call handmade Zakka style ^-^

Patchwork lessons

Patchwork lessons is a name of Japanese book. I read it and think I would enjoy pick a color, mix and match, cut fabrics to little pieces than sew it together again. There are 12 lessons in first book,I planed to sew lesson by lesson. Start with a pan holder in 25x25 cm. It's very small so I think it may take a day to finished it. Unfortunately, patchwork is not easy as it seem. It needs a lot of concentration. I made every mistake I can. I almost throw it away. Patchwork may not my type. However, I finished it last night.

Take a good look and you'll see that the letters is upside down and the square is not really square. It's a little bit too flat (because ironing too much , I think)

This side is very nice.
